Breaker boys and girls go for the gold and win in their respective volleyball tournaments
Last week, four Laguna Beach High School boys and girls scored big time in two separate volleyball tournaments. The boys, Nolan Naess and Wyatt Gillespie, played in the Jr Olympic National Volleyball Tournament (Team 949) and came home with the gold. Making it a family matter, Nolan’s sister, Piper, and her teammate, Olivia Nitoglia, won gold medals at the Arizona Volleyball Festival 2017 in Phoenix.

This girls’ T-Street Team won many previous tournaments to qualify to play. They continued to win, eventually playing in the Gold Final and won on Sat.
Piper’s brother, Nolan, and Wyatt left on Friday for Columbus, OH, for their Jr Olympic National Volleyball Tournament. The team was successful as well and ended up playing in the National finals on Wed, also bringing home with the gold.

Wyatt will be a freshman at LBHS, and Olivia and Piper will be on the Breakers volleyball team and will be big assets in team play. Nolan will be a freshman playing basketball and baseball. Unfortunately, baseball conflicts with the volleyball season.
Congratulations to all the gold medalists.
