“LBHS #2 Singles player Sarah MacCallum played with focus to sweep all three of her sets. Ainsley Beresford added a victory at #3 Singles despite a nagging ankle injury,” said Coach Conkey. “The last match of the day was Ella Pachl. She was fighting sickness and a stubborn opponent but dug deep to pull away at the end, adding an additional two sets to our win column.”

Ainsley Beresford, Sarah MacCallum and Camille Deckey helped lead the Breakers to an upset victory over number one seeded Wilson on Wednesday

“In doubles, Megan Mindte and Vanessa Gee led the attack with aggressive play to take all three of their sets. Jessa Chaney and Camille Deckey added an additional two set contribution to this victory by attacking their opponents relentlessly.

“Hana Beri and Cosette Basto battled to the end with long baseline rallies that weakened early round opponents.

“The community support was overwhelming,” said Coach Conkey. “But now we need everyone to push off their Friday afternoon plans and support these girl at the Claremont Tennis Club.”

The team’s final match, the CIF Division 3 title match against Huntington Beach, begins today (Friday) at 1 p.m. sharp.
