Area Council for Boys & Girls Clubs OC honors outstanding leaders with 2024 Eddy Awards

The Area Council for the 14 Boys & Girls Club 501(c)(3) corporations across Orange County announced the recipients of the 2024 Board Leadership Eddy Awards. Held at the Anaheim Marriott, the ceremony celebrated the remarkable contributions of individual board members from each of the Boys & Girls Club organizations in Orange County.

Named after Ed Arnold, an esteemed Boys Club Alumnus and OC icon, the Eddy awards recognize individuals who exemplify exceptional board service, leadership and dedication to enhancing the lives of young people in their community. Each awardee has demonstrated a passionate commitment to fostering positive environments where youth can thrive and reach their full potential.

Among the honorees is Terry Anderson, past board president of the Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach (the club), which also serves children living in Aliso Viejo, Lake Forest and Mission Viejo. Anderson’s visionary leadership has played a pivotal role in expanding the organization’s services to young people in the Saddleback Valley Area. Under his guidance, the club has opened four new sites in Lake Forest and Mission Viejo, providing countless families with access to safe, enriching programs beyond the school day.

The Anaheim Marriott, serving as Title Sponsor for the event, exemplifies the values of selflessness and community impact celebrated by the Eddy Awards. Lorraine Orr, EVP and COO for Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), was the keynote speaker and commended the Area Council for Boys & Girls Clubs in Orange County for its exceptional performance and dedication to advancing the values of the Boys & Girls Club movement across the nation. The Orange County Area Council was also recognized by BGCA as the Pacific Region Area Council of the Year.
