Laguna Food Pantry receives $65,500 in combined grants

The OC Community Resilience Fund awarded Laguna Food Pantry a $25,000 grant. This $1 million fund is a collaborative, urgent response by Orange County foundations and community donors in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Resilience Fund, seeking to strengthen and support community-based organizations that serve vulnerable communities most impacted by COVID-19, recognized thirty-six local organizations in addition to Laguna Food Pantry.

“What an incredible gift! Laguna Food Pantry is so grateful to the OC Community Resilience Fund for the financial support to remain open, to serve thousands of people per month who rely on the Pantry for food during these unprecedented times of tremendous need,” said Anne Belyea, LFP’s Executive Director. Belyea continued, “The Pantry is proud to be among the first-round grantees of the OC Community Resilience Fund.”

The Laguna Food Pantry is grateful for the outpouring of support from Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) funders. Founded in 1989, the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) works with donors, strengthens the local nonprofit sector, and works to find solutions to community needs.

The Lalitha Varanasi Foundation Fund through OCCF awarded the Laguna Food Pantry with a $500 unrestricted grant.

Additionally, two incredibly generous Anonymous donors presented the Laguna Food Pantry with grants totaling $40,000, also through OCCF.

The Laguna Food Pantry sends its heartfelt appreciation to these silent donors, along with the OC Community Resilience Fund, and the Lalitha Varanasi Foundation Fund.

The Laguna Food Pantry is open Monday through Friday from 8 to 10:30 a.m. and is now operating with a drive-through distribution system. Anyone in need is welcome to visit the site once a week. Please pass this information along to anyone who may benefit.

Laguna Food Pantry is always in need of donations. To donate or for more information, visit www.lagunafoodpantry.org or call (949) 497-7121.
