Laguna Beach was especially bright last Saturday at the Mermaid Building, with the debut show of local artist Dominica Fusaro. More than 150 guests in attendance were treated to an evening of sparkling lights, twinkling sequins and time with the artist.

With 12 oversized canvases imbued with abstract designs adorned with sequins, the artist’s signature in this series, the evening was complemented with custom cocktails courtesy of local Laguna Beach bartender Adam Bernstein, and passed hors d’oeuvres by Plums Cafe.

Exuberant color is at the heart of Dominica’s work and it was reflected throughout every detail of the evening. From the colored orbs of sparkling light to the flamingo pink custom napkins emblazoned with “Paint Your Dreams,” the evening was alive with pinks, blues and light that dazzled.
