Short film by local teenager Michael Tanaka accepted into 20th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival

Laguna Beach teenager Michael Tanaka is excited to announce that his short film 24 HOURS, which was filmed in Laguna Beach, was accepted into the 20th Annual Newport Beach Film Festival with other shorts from Orange Coast College. 

 Michael says, “It is about a race against time to see how much stuff we can do in a day before the year 2018 ended. Basically, Laguna locals having a good time and beach hopping to different locations and secret spots in Laguna Beach.”

The film premieres on Sunday, April 28, at 1 p.m. at Lido Theater, located at 3459 Via Lido, Newport Beach. It was directed, filmed, and edited by Michael Tanaka. The Laguna Beach cast includes Travis Booth, John Hrynkiewicz, Burke Williams, James Ferrell, and Sebastian Nakashima. Music is by the band Odesza – Meridian.

Film opens at Lido Theater on Sunday, April 28

The synopsis of the film reads, “With 2018 coming to an end, my friends and I decided to race time and do as much stuff as we can in one day. This is that day.”
