Cops find concealed stolen rifles at Alta Laguna Park

A Laguna patrol officer checked out two men just before midnight in Alta Laguna Park last Wednesday. One of the men took off on foot as the officer detained the other. Additional units responded to the scene.

Eventually, officers connected Kyle Enoka, 23, Fountain Valley, with a parked vehicle and discovered an empty rifle bag behind the back seat. A further search, which encompassed nearly an hour, turned up concealed rifles – a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 (that brand’s AR 15 equivalent) and a Ruger.

The two rifles had been reported stolen in Fountain Valley in mid-January, Sgt. Tim Kleiser of the LBPD said.

Enoka was arrested for carrying a concealed stolen firearm, possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.

Power outage, trees down, high wind and rain Sunday

4,000 Edison customers had power outages of up to two hours Sunday when a tree fell on a power line from high winds in the 2100 block of Temple Hills Drive. That caused a transformer to blow up.

The outages covered the downtown area and several blocks south of Thalia Street. No injuries were reported.

Other wires and several trees were knocked down.

Parking is always a problem in Laguna Beach – but this is taking that truth too far. Municipal Services cleared the tree quickly allowing traffic to suffer only a short time on Broadway. We thank Jason Pannell for posting this photo on Facebook.
