She was taken into custody at about 7:30.

North Laguna business victimized by “SC Edison” scam

Another Laguna Beach business fell victim to scammers claiming to represent So Cal Edison last week.

The business received a phone call advising that their power would be cut off that day unless they paid a $1998 past due bill.

Sgt. Tim Kleiser of the LBPD said, “The caller requested the victim purchase prepaid cards and call back with the numbers. The victim did this and later became suspicious and learned she had been a victim of a scam.”
