LBHS Class of 2024 grad helps lead MLS Next soccer team to semifinals in national championship

Jaxson Hutcheon, a recent Class of 2024 Laguna Beach High School (LBHS) grad, has led the Strikers FC Irvine to the MLS Next Cup U19 National Championship semifinal game, to be played today, Friday, June 21 at 3 p.m.

Laguna Beach local Jaxson Hutcheon is competing in the MLS Next Cup National Championships semifinals today (June 21)

The MLS Next league is a feeder league to the MLS (Major League Soccer). The tournament featured the top 32 teams in the country, now whittled down to the final four.

Hutcheon scored 2 goals in the second game of the tourney, when his team was down 0-1. They would go on to win 3-1. He is tied with another teammate for the most goals for the Strikers in the tourney.

Hutcheon is tied for the most goals for the Strikers FC Irvine squad in the MLS Next Cup U19 Championships. MLS Next is a feeder league to the MLS (Major League Soccer).

While at LBHS, Hutcheon played Varsity Soccer before joining the Strikers FC Irvine mid-season this year.

Today’s (June 21) semifinal game is viewable on Apple TV with the MLS Pass.
