Police search for and arrest man at Moulton Meadows Park for allegedly brandishing taser

A community advisory was disseminated Wednesday evening (Jan. 31) at 7:59 p.m. by the City of Laguna Beach reporting police activity at Moulton Meadows Park. Police additionally closed Balboa from the south end to the north end of the park, searching for a suspect that was reportedly brandishing a taser. Police asked residents to “please stay out of the area.”

Through the investigation, a subject was identified as 31-year-old Samuel Ostgaard of Silverado Canyon. He was ultimately located in the area after a thorough search and arrested on suspicion of brandishing a taser, making criminal threats and for resisting an officer.

He is currently being held with no bail.
