(L-R) President of Toastmasters John Lin congratulates Daniel Midson-Short for being the guest speaker at a recent club meeting. Midson-Short is an award-winning speaker who has competed several times at the Toastmasters World Championship of public speaking. He just recently joined the Laguna Beach club.

Toastmasters is a nonprofit self-development program that helps people improve public speaking, communication and leadership skills in a friendly, safe environment. Before the pandemic, the club was one of the largest Toastmasters clubs in South Orange County. The open house is focused on building membership.

According to John Lin, Laguna resident and current Rotary Club president, “Public speaking is one of our greatest fears. By joining Toastmasters of Laguna Beach, you can improve your skills and more importantly, build more confidence when you speak. Please join us.”
