What’s happening at the Festival of Arts this weekend

On Saturday, July 6, the 2024 Pageant of the Masters production of À La Mode: The Art of Fashion opens. This highly anticipated show will revisit some of history’s grandest spectacles and fashion trends through the magic of living pictures. Watch art come to life right before your eyes in a star-lit amphitheater. There’s nothing else like it. Performances nightly through August 30. “À La Mode: The Art of Fashion” debuts on July 6

The Festival of the Arts offers unique workshops and a range of talented musicians to spice up your visit to the grounds. Here are a few events coming up this weekend.

Friday, July 5, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Youth Arts – Watercolor Pencil Birds

About the Class: Using watercolor pencils, participants will create birds with blended colors that almost fly off the page. A great way to play with both pencil and paint, watercolor pencils are a favorite of kids and adults alike.

Cost: $25.

Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Youth Arts – Ceramics

July 6: Learn how to use clay to build your own ceramic boat. Taking inspiration from the surroundings, attendees will use patterns and tools to let their imaginations sail. Glazing is an optional next step for your ceramics piece. Come in one week to create the piece and come in the next to add color by glazing it.

Cost: $25.
